Rapper Snoop Dogg changes his name to Snoop Lion
The cannabis-loving 40-year-old — real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr — said: “I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion.

“I didn’t know that until I went to the temple where the High Priest asked me what my name was and I said, ‘Snoop Dogg’. He looked me in my eyes and said, ‘No more. You are the light — you are the lion’.”


Snoop Dogg says he was "born again" during a visit to Jamaica in January, is changing his name to Snoop Lion and is ready to make music that his "kids and grandparents can listen to."

The US ex-gangsta star, who also believes he is the reincarnation of Bob Marley, has recorded a reggae album on the island. One track is called No Guns Allowed.The artist known for gangster rap is releasing a reggae album called "Reincarnated" in the fall.
